The artistic evolution of photography has always been closely linked to technological developments within the industry. Recent advances in the production of high-quality equipment at an affordable cost have led to everyone with a camera in their hands. Immediately, images are shared with the world, and in the next instant; forgotten.

With 'Engaze' you are invited to take a deep breath, to pause the photographic euphoria - to stop and look. Everything starts with a gaze, a look, that becomes first one thought and then another. In this exhibition, students from UWL MA photography share their passion for the human condition.

Birth and death, gender, age, poverty, immigration and always identity – concepts that remind us all how simultaneously equal yet different we really are.
